Google Integrates AI Music Generation Into Gemini App
Google announced Wednesday that its Gemini app now includes music-generation capabilities powered by DeepMind's Lyria 3 model, currently in beta. Users can describe a desired song and the tool generates a 30-second track with lyrics and cover art. The feature also accepts photo or video uploads to match generated music to the mood of uploaded media.
The company said Lyria 3 produces more realistic and complex music than previous versions, with user controls for style, vocals, and tempo. Google is simultaneously rolling out Lyria 3 to YouTube creators through the Dream Track feature, expanding availability beyond the U.S. market where it was previously limited.
