Box Reports Record $1.1B ARR as AI Infrastructure Demand Surges
Box CEO Aaron Levie announced the cloud storage and collaboration platform has crossed $1.1 billion in annual recurring revenue for the first time, with a 28% margin, according to remarks made on the Latent Space podcast. The milestone comes as enterprise software vendors increasingly integrate AI agent capabilities into their platforms.
Levie, who serves 70% of the Fortune 500 through Box's Enterprise Advanced Suite, has become a visible voice in debates over AI's impact on SaaS businesses. The timing of Box's record results arrives as infrastructure companies including Cursor, Cloudflare, Perplexity, and Anthropic have prioritized "agent sandboxes"—isolated computing environments for AI agents—as a core offering. This segment is growing 100% month-over-month, according to the podcast.
The announcement underscores how established SaaS vendors are positioning themselves as foundational infrastructure for AI deployment, even as the industry debates whether generative AI threatens traditional software business models.
