Box Reports Record $1.1B+ ARR as AI Infrastructure Demand Surges
Box CEO Aaron Levie announced the cloud storage company has crossed $1.1 billion in annual recurring revenue for the first time, with a 28% margin, as enterprise demand for AI-ready infrastructure accelerates.
The milestone comes as Box serves 70% of the Fortune 500 through its Enterprise Advanced Suite. Levie, who maintains visibility in both public markets and early-stage AI startups, is now positioned at the intersection of two trends: traditional SaaS adoption and the emerging "agent infrastructure" movement, where companies like Cursor, Cloudflare, Perplexity, and Anthropic are building sandboxed environments for AI agents.
The timing is significant. Filesystems and sandboxes—what the industry calls "giving agents a box"—have become one of the fastest-growing areas in AI infrastructure, expanding at 100% month-over-month growth rates.
For CFOs managing enterprise software portfolios, Box's results suggest that established SaaS vendors with existing infrastructure can pivot to serve AI workloads without starting from scratch. The question now: how many other legacy SaaS players will follow Box's playbook?
